there are tons of things i could write about today- it’s been ages since i wrote here and as always lots has happened. lisa had a little girl- emily rose- who is absolutely beautiful and who i’ve seen a couple of times now. i am so pleased for them, and i am so looking forward to watching emily grow! it’s very exciting.

i also went to see a physiatrist about my back! it was very exciting, since i’m the only person i know who has ever been to a physiatrist. it was totally worth it, and he basically spent lots of time with me telling me about my scoliosis and kyphosis, which was very interesting. the bottom line is that everything is fine and i should focus on taking calcium and continuing with pilates. seems like great, practical advice!

which leads me to my latest need– i’m taking tons of vitamins now, and i’d love a supercute organizer for them. i’ve been surfing the web to try to find one, but so far i’ve only found boring stuff that is super generic. so i’m still on the hunt- will let you know whether i find anything!

i also bought the cutest pair of shoes! they are somewhat ballet-slipper like, coffee colored GEOX. i really love them and they are so comfy. they feel like a pair of slippers. i am very excited to wear them- which i’m sure i’ll be doing very regularly!

i’ve been planning for 2 weeks now to bake up some nice potatoes. we have sour cream, butter, cheese, and turkey bacon just waiting to load up on top of a potato. tonight was supposed to be the night, and i came home from work eager to prepare my 2 potatoes for prashant and i. i even did research at work today about the best method to bake them. but when i came home and started to prep the little guys, i noticed they were green! i wasn’t too worried about it, and put them in the oven. then i did my online research… it’s amazing, when i was little my mom used to tell me that green potatoes were toxic and unsafe to eat. i always avoided them, because they seemed gross, but in the back of my mind i wasn’t sure about the whole “toxic” thing. it seemed too extreme.

well it turns out that she’s right, they are toxic. it would take a lot to hurt you, but you may get a little sick from even a little bit. so that’s it, out with the potatoes. i guess we’ll have eggs and turkey bacon for din-din! i hope prashant is in the mood to cook.

in other, more superexciting news, lisa is in labor. i’m looking forward to meeting her little girl very soon. i feel very happy about all of this, and hoping for good news soon. thinking about her being in labor right now is very bizarre. i’m happy to be home and comfortable, i’m sure that what she’s going through is no picnic!

still haven’t opened the b school box, and still looking at the same drivel on the internets!

pilates

after work tonight, i went downtown to pilates. it was really great- it was hard, as usual, but all the stretching is really good for me and i feel much more limber afterward. it’s difficult to leave work exactly at 5:30 on wednesdays to go, but it’s totally worth it.

so the gmat book is still unopened. i guess we’re on day 7 or 8 now. i’m just so unmotivated by the idea of going to b school (and all the prep work for it), i am not convinced it’s what i want in my life right now- or in the next few years. the problem is i can’t easily identify what it is that i do want to do, so it makes sense to those around me that b school would be a great place to find direction. i’m simply not convinced i’m ready to go back to school. i honestly have never really enjoyed schoolwork, so i can’t imagine myself enjoying b school. comaraderie, friendships, social hour=yes, schoolwork=blechhh. so i need to really dig in and take this seriously if i’m gonna do it, and i need to put my foot down if i’m not.

the unopened box is making me feel guilty. see! not in school and already i have schoolwork related guilt. i can’t take it.

tv hasn’t gotten better since the strike stopped, i guess that’s to be expected, and the dvr timing seems to be on the fritz. it taped “LA Ink” last night, but it wasn’t LA Ink at all! it was some other random house-related show. how boring. we all know i’m looking for some good TV right now (what with that GMAT book beckoning) and the dvr is no help at all. major bummer.

i am not sure that i am liking wordpress better than blogspot, i’m having trouble doing the customizations that i want. nonetheless i’m going to stick with it for now, don’t feel like switching unless i have an issue.

the oscars are tonight. i probably won’t watch them, although i’ll likely watch the red carpet. i’m much more interested in the dresses than the awards show. i care about the list of winners too, but not enough to sit through it for hours.

A while ago, I started a blog about Trader Joe’s, where the goal was to taste test TJ’s food and comment on it online. It was fun in concept, but quickly became work. I am hoping that this more informal, many tracked blog will be easier for me to keep up with.

Websites visited today: nytimes.com, cnn.com, tmz.com, wikipedia.org, bestfriends.org, dlisted.com, perezhilton.com, egotastic.com, myspace.com, youtube.com, amazon.com, eater.com (and they don’t even update on the weekends- yes, I’ve been bored!) It starts out decent and quickly descends into the mind-numbing. I know, I know. I live the dream.
